Hurricane Milton, which was classified as a “dangerous Category 3” storm, made landfall on Florida’s west coast, and Tom Brady is coming through in a big way.
Tom Brady, who considered the Tampa area his home after he signed there and won a Super Bowl, decided to help by giving money.
He released a statement saying, “In the wake of Hurricane Milton, I’ll be making a donation of $100k to help get essentials like food, water, and first aid to fellow Floridians in need.
My friends at @gopuff are matching this, along with all other donations made via ‘Give With Gopuff,’ all benefitigin the Volunteer Florida Foundation.
Keep those impacted by these storms in your prayers, look out for you neighbors, and continue to help out anyway you’re able. Stay safe, and stay strong Florida 💪,” Brady posted on social media.
Reactions to the great gesture were surprisingly mixed. Many praised Brady for donating, while others thought he could do so much more.
The iconic quarterback signed a 10-year deal worth $375 million to be on broadcast for Fox Sports, and that is just a small part of what he made on the field in the NFL and with endorsements.
Even still, Tom Brady did not have to give anything, so his donation of six figures is an incredible gesture.
Tom Brady Is Fitting In Nicely With His Broadcasting Duties
Tom Brady made his broadcasting debut in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season, calling the Dallas Cowboys’ first three games against the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, and Baltimore Ravens.
He would then go on to be on call for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ rout of the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4 and was in the booth for the San Francisco 49ers’ 24-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
So, how has it been going?
Every week, Brady appears to be getting more comfortable on the microphone.
Julian Edelman spent 10 of his 11 seasons in the NFL catching passes from Tom Brady, and he had nothing but glowing words to say about his new job.
“I think it’s been going great,” Edelman said to Sports Illustrated’s Claudette Montana in a recent interview on behalf of Tostitos. “He’s never done it. He’s done the ‘Patriot thing’ where he continues to improve each week. You can tell he’s getting a lot more comfortable.
“Just like a rookie quarterback going into the league learning operations and how things go, timing, chemistry—that’s what Brady is doing. I think he’s been doing great. His insight is awesome.”
As for this Sunday, Brady will be back in the booth in Week 6 for the Cowboys’ game against the Detroit Lions at AT&T Stadium.
