A blockbuster trade proposal has the Carolina Panthers giving Bryce Young a much-needed change of scenery by sending him to an NFC team ahead of today’s deadline.

Bryce Young has been widely mentioned in trade rumors since the Panthers benched him in favor of veteran Andy Dalton in Week 3. With the Panthers in a position to finish with a top-10 pick that will let them target a new signal-caller in the QB-heavy 2025 NFL Draft class, it makes sense to trade Young and give him the fresh start he deserves.

The first overall pick of 2023 has lost three of four starts this season, completing just 60.2 percent of pass attempts for 694 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. But as Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold have shown, a former highly-touted QB can erase the “bust” label if he lands with the right team.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has the Panthers sending Bryce Young to the New York Giants in exchange for a fourth-round pick:

“Panthers quarterback Bryce Young to the Giants for a fourth-round pick. I don’t think Carolina’s going to do any better than a fourth-rounder for Young right now (which could be a reason to actually hang onto him), but if the Panthers have decided to move on, New York would be a nice landing spot for him. Young and Giants coach Brian Daboll didn’t overlap at Alabama, but they surely know a lot of the same people at the school, and Daboll might view Young as a player he could develop.

The Giants don’t know what their future at quarterback holds in 2025 and beyond, and a cheap flier on a guy who was the No. 1 pick just 18 months ago could be worth it.”

The Giants will certainly cut ties with Daniel Jones and his $160 million contract in the offseason. New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll helped unlock Josh Allen’s potential in Buffalo, and just maybe he could do the same with Young.

Giants Should Definitely Trade For Bryce Young

New York would offer several enticing pieces for Young here: A rising superstar wide receiver in Malik Nabers, an underrated veteran WR in Darius Slayton, a franchise offensive tackle in Andrew Thomas and a stud running back in Tyrone Tracy Jr.

If Young shows enough in New York to keep the starting job for 2025, the Giants can always add more weapons in the draft and free agency. And if he doesn’t pan out? New York can target another QB like Georgia’s Carson Beck, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or Miami’s Cameron Ward in the draft.
