Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur announced that Jordan Love would officially be listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report for Week 9. The quarterback’s status remains uncertain as the team prepares for their upcoming matchup against the Detroit Lions.

The Packers will confirm Love’s availability 90 minutes before the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. They are looking to close the gap with the Lions in the NFC North.

This news isn’t surprising, as Love was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday. While he’s not at full strength, there’s a chance he could still play. True to form, LaFleur remained tight-lipped, sharing only the bare minimum of details.

We’ll give him up to game time to see how he’s feeling.

Matt LaFleur said to the reporters

Earlier, on Wednesday, LaFleur iterated the sense and urgency of his incident. He expressed that the highly-paid Love wants to play but the team has decided to continue assessing Love over some time.

We’ll take it one day a time. Certainly, yeah, we’ll push the envelope with that. I know he wants to play, but we’ll see where he’s at by the end of the week.

Matt LaFleur said

Malik Willis, Love’s backup has performed excellently in his absence this season. He has gone 2-0 as a starter when Love missed two games with a knee injury and footed up last week to lead the Packers to victory.

Malik Willis cleans up nicely in Jordan Love’s potential absence

The Detroit Lions are preparing for Malik Willis and Jordan Love. Willis has put out a winning record in two of his starts and has been in sublime form. Willis proved he was more than capable, stepping up to lead the Packers to two wins and showcasing that their offense could thrive even in MVP probable Love’s absence.

Willis rose to the occasion again last week. With the Packers trailing, Willis completed four out of five passes for 56 yards and a touchdown, adding another 23 yards on the ground. Furthermore, he also directed a game-winning drive for the Packers.

Quoting WWE’s Cody Rhodes, Willis went from “undesirable to undeniable.” He cemented his status in Green Bay after being passed over by the Titans in the offseason. He has 74.4% of his passes for 380 yards, three touchdowns, and an additional 137 yards rushing with a score. He is making a strong case for himself. It wouldn’t be surprising if teams in need of a quarterback take notice this offseason.
