Legendary guitarist, who was out walking his dog in the early hours of the morning, is ‘fully conscious’ and ‘expected to fully recover’
Jake E. Lee, a guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands and Red Dragon Cartel, was shot multiple times in Las Vegas on Tuesday. He is expected to fully recover, according to his spokesperson.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Lee’s rep said, “As confirmed by management, legendary rock guitarist Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, Red Dragon Cartel) was shot multiple times early this morning in a Las Vegas, NV street shooting.”
“Lee is fully conscious and doing well in an intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital,” the statement continued. “He is expected to fully recover.”

“Las Vegas authorities believe the shooting was completely random and occurred while Lee took his dog out for a walk in the early morning hours,” the statement continued. “As the incident is under police investigation, no further comments will be forthcoming. Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy at this time.”

A representative for the Las Vegas Police Department confirmed the shooting when reached by Fox News Digital.
“On October 15, 2024, at approximately 2:42 a.m., LVMPD officers responded to a shooting incident in the 11000 block of Alora Street,” the statement read. “Officers arrived and located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male was transported to the hospital. No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.”
Lee played alongside Osbourne as the lead guitarist from 1982 to 1985 and was featured on “Bark at the Moon” and “The Ultimate Sin” albums before being replaced by Zakk Wylde. Around 2010, Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, had reportedly contacted Lee about a possible reunion.

“Well, I’d gotten a call from Sharon, and being Sharon, she actually managed to find me,” he told author Martin Popoff, per Loudwire. “She tracked my phone number because I swear there were maybe a handful of people that had my phone number. Somehow she called me at home, and she told me that Ozzy was having problems with Zakk, and they were looking to replace him and if I’d be interested in doing some festivals and quite possibly the next record.”
While Lee said he was “interested” at the time, there was a problem that needed to be resolved before any type of reunion.
“I can’t let sleeping dogs lie,” he told Popoff. “I said if we’re going to go forward, I want to fix the one problem I’ve had since the very beginning. I said I would like my name on the songwriting credits for ‘Bark At The Moon.’”

Lee had claimed he was not properly credited on songs he had reportedly written for the album.
“I said if we can get past that, then we can talk further about whether or not I can do this or not,” he stated. “And [Sharon] said she’d call me back the next day and she didn’t. So I took that as a no.”
