Houston Rockets star Steven Adams is no stranger to grabbing attention on social media with his unique humor. Adams recently turned heads with a hilarious “Mom” joke that left fans laughing. But now he’s taken his humor to the next level, responding to Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla in classic Adams style.

Boston is coming off winning their 18th title. Mazzulla has been vocal about his ambitions to keep the success going. Boldly, he even suggested that the NBA should consider bringing back fighting.

Adams couldn’t let this pass by. The Rockets’ big man took to Instagram, responding to Mazzulla’s wish by joking, “$20 I punch @rudygobert27 square in the nose.”

This dig at Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert sparked instant reactions online. But Instagram didn’t seem to appreciate the humor. The platform removed Adams’ post, noting, “We removed your comment.”

Adams shared Instagram’s removal notice on his account, captioning it with the simple yet telling statement, “Feels bad.”

Gobert has yet to respond to Adams’ playful jab. However, with a matchup between the Rockets and Timberwolves scheduled for November 26, Gobert may be waiting to answer Adams directly on the court.

San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama had his first encounter guarding Houston Rockets veteran Steven Adams in Monday’s game between the Spurs and Rockets. The matchup was challenging for Wembanyama, who tried to box out Adams but found himself overpowered by the seasoned center.

With Adams’ strength and experience on display, the Rockets ultimately claimed victory, defeating the Spurs 106-101. Adams contributed six points and three rebounds in just under 14 minutes. This game marked Adams’ return to the court after being sidelined with a PCL injury during the 2022–23 season.

Adams had also missed the first three games of this season due to a left calf strain. Before his injuries, Adams had been a critical player, averaging 8.6 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
