Former Canadiens Employee Speaks Out on Logan Mailloux as a New Story Emerges

For a few days now, the former management of the Montreal Canadiens has been frequently in the news.

Marc Bergevin gave a very rare interview to journalist Pierre LeBrun, and this interview has been generating a lot of buzz since the beginning of the week.

The following excerpt, concerning Logan Mailloux, particularly caught attention.

Marc Bergevin did not want to elaborate on the selection of Logan Mailloux but was pleased that the young man had done what was necessary to earn a second chance.

The 15 key revelations from Marc Bergevin (via TVA Sports).

In short, we got the same story from Paul Wilson, the predecessor of Chantal Machabée, who was let go at the same time as Bergevin.

Paul Wilson holds back on the topic of Logan Mailloux

It’s clear that this is a sensitive topic for the former management, and it’s understandable since they faced significant criticism at the time. However, I believe they should be proud of this story instead.

They believed in Logan Mailloux, and today, the young man has done everything to redeem himself, becoming an important part of the Montreal Canadiens’ future.

It’s a great story, a second chance with a positive outcome, so I think they should be proud to talk about Mailloux.

Personally, I love this young hockey player, and I’m thrilled he’s now part of the Montreal Canadiens organization.

So why walk on eggshells about it?

It creates a story where there shouldn’t be one.

[Paul Wilson] was questioned about the Marc Bergevin case on BPM Sports this morning, and he does agree that this selection (Logan Mailloux’s) played a role in the end of his association with the Canadiens.

– Charles-Alexis Brisebois, who adds that listening to Paul Wilson, you can sense he is being very cautious.

Clearly, this remains a very delicate matter for them.
