Iman Shumpert, the 2016 NBA champion with the Cleveland Cavaliers, is still making headlines despite last playing in the 2020-21 season. Following their Florida beach trip, the 34-year-old guard sparked dating rumors with TV personality and model Amber Rose. However, Shumpert recently clarified the situation, putting an end to speculation.
The first-round pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, Shumpert played 10 seasons in the NBA with five teams, including the New York Knicks and the Sacramento Kings. Last month, pictures of Shumpert and Amber Rose’s beach trip in Miami went viral on social media, igniting rumors of a romance between the two.
The former Cavaliers guard recently clarified that they are just friends in an interview with TMZ. Shumpert said, “We went to ‘College Hill’ [Celebrity Edition] together. Any other time, y’all would’ve just let us eat, but I get it.” When asked about any romantic involvement between them, he added, “Nah, that’s my peoples.”
Shumpert also told TMZ about his new seven-part series, “Taking One for the Team,” which will air on October 16. The only NBA player to win “Dancing With The Stars” also had a message for Dwight Howard.

Shumpert won the DWTS in 2021 with his professional dance partner Daniella Karagach, who is currently paired with Dwight Howard. While asked about the former Lakers star, he told TMZ, “He (Howard) gon’ win. He got Daniella. He gon’ win, man.”
“He can do all the lifts. He can carry her up, pick her up, move her around. Whatever y’all wanna see, he got it. He can lift her up better than me. He gotta win. He just [have to] remember to smile,” he added.
After not playing in the NBA for the last three years, the former NBA champ hasn’t ended his professional journey. However, whether Iman Shumpert will ever return to the NBA remains to be seen.
