The Cleveland Browns’ home stadium has undergone a name change, the team announced on Tuesday.

Cleveland is gearing up for its home opener against the Dallas Cowboys, set for Sunday. In the meantime, it has been revealed that its grounds, previously known as Cleveland Browns Stadium, will be “Huntington Bank Field.”

The Browns disclosed as much via their official website, announcing a 20-year partnership with the Columbus-based institution, which will also make it the team’s official and exclusive banking partner.

“The Cleveland Browns are iconic in American sports and a globally recognized brand,” Huntington Bank chairman, president, and CEO Steve Steinour remarked. “Huntington Bank is thrilled to create this partnership and make this investment in the Cleveland Browns and Northeast Ohio. This is also a pivotal moment for us as it gives us a high-profile platform to elevate our brand nationally.”

About Huntington Bank

Huntington was founded in Ohio in 1866, nearly 100 years before the Browns came into existence. It’s now worth $196 billion and has 970 branches in 11 states nationwide.

“Whether in the existing stadium or a new one, the Browns’ commitment to Northeast Ohio will continue to spur significant economic growth and development for years to come, and we are excited to be a part of that future,” Steinour claimed.

The Cleveland Browns Are Looking To Build On Last Season’s Achievement

The Browns finished with an 11-6 record last season, going to the playoffs despite season-ending injuries to their starting quarterback, Deshaun Watson, and star running back, Nick Chubb.

They will hope to have an even better campaign this time around, with Watson set to return in 2024. It’s also hoped that he could actually play a full season with the team after a disappointing two-year spell littered with legal troubles and injury problems.

Meanwhile, Chubb is set to miss at least the first four weeks of the upcoming season but is expected to be back at some point.
