Tonight the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators game has descended into madness after Arber Xhekaj was assessed a major penalty for a big hit on Tim Stutzle.
The Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators are in full mid season rivalry form tonight. Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj has been given a major penalty after hitting Senators superstar Tim Stutzle in the head. The hit came well after Tim Stutzle had released the puck.
The hit is the latest chapter in the crazy saga of tonight’s game. Earlier in the game Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach was hit in the head by Senators forward Ridly Greig. This hit is according to some payback for the original hit.
Arber Xhekaj was ejected from the game but before leaving he had to answer for his hit after being challenged by Senators captain Brady Tkachuk. As of now, it is unknown the condition of Tim Stutzle. Arber Xhekaj has been known to have a history of getting himself into situations like this. Earlier this week he fought Cedric Pare after his teammate Patrik Laine was injured. Arber Xhekaj fight with Cedric Pare
After this fight, Martin St Louis was asked about his thoughts regarding the young defenseman’s response to the Patrik Laine injury. Martin St. Louis praised Arber Xhekaj for showing that type of hit won’t be tolerated on a Canadiens player.
With this latest incident, it will be interesting to hear Martin St. Louis’ thoughts on Arber Xhekaj’s continued conduct. After the fight with Cedric Pare Arber Xhekaj was fined. After tonight’s chaos, he likely will be facing another fine if not a possible suspension.
