The Minnesota Timberwolves are finding life difficult without Karl-Anthony Towns. After trading their star big man to the New York Knicks this offseason, the team has struggled to find its rhythm. Without KAT, Anthony Edwards’ team lost 115-104 to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, marking their fourth straight defeat and seventh in the last nine games.

The team’s losing streak has visibly frustrated Edwards, who was once part of a dynamic duo with Towns. Following the loss, Edwards voiced his concerns, suggesting that the Timberwolves are not as united as they used to be.

“I don’t like frontrunners. Myself, I’m not a frontrunner. I hate to have frontrunners or to think we have frontrunners on the team. I don’t think we have any of those. It looks like we were frontrunners tonight, 100%,” Edwards said.

“We’re just so negative right now. Last couple years, we was like this (tight), and I just feel like we’ve gradually grown away from each other, which is the craziest thing because most of us have been together,” he added.

Anthony Edwards Calls Timberwolves “Soft” After Latest Defeat

As the Timberwolves continue to struggle, the New York Knicks have found success, improving to 10-7 with Karl-Anthony Towns. Following Minnesota’s loss to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, Anthony Edwards couldn’t hide his frustration. The Wolves star openly criticized the team’s performance, calling the group dynamic “soft.”

“I think it’s we soft as (heck) as a team internally. Not to the other team, but internally, we soft. We can’t talk to each other. Just a bunch of little kids. Just like we playing with a bunch of little kids. Everybody, the whole team. We just can’t talk to each other. And we’ve got to figure it out because we can’t go down this road,” Edwards said.

The defeat brought the Timberwolves’ record down to 8-10. Despite the loss, Edwards delivered a standout performance, leading the team with 29 points, five rebounds, and five assists in 37 minutes.
