Tommy Fury has finally opened up about the painful breakup with his long-time partner, Molly-Mae Hague, 

shedding light on the real reason behind their shocking split after five years together.

In an exclusive interview with *Men’s Health UK*, Fury admitted that his struggles with alcohol were the main factor that led to the end of their relationship.

The couple had announced their breakup in August, with Molly-Mae, 25, expressing her disbelief at how their love story had ended,

especially in such an unexpected manner.

Rumors quickly surfaced suggesting that Tommy, 25, had been unfaithful to his fiancée, but he has strongly denied these claims.

Instead, he revealed that his battle with alcohol played a significant role in the demise of their relationship. According to Fury, the emotional toll of a prolonged injury, which kept him from training, led him to turn to drinking as a way to cope with the pain and frustration.

“I broke up because I had a problem with alcohol, and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore,” he confessed, visibly saddened by the situation. “It kills me to say it, but I couldn’t.”

Fury shared that during the months when he was recovering from the injury, he began drinking excessively, seeking solace in alcohol to escape the challenges he was facing.

“Where I’d normally be in camp, I’d just be smashing Guinness left, right, and center. Then, later on in the night, shots would come out. Most nights, I would drink to get black-out drunk,” he admitted.

“I think that’s what really took its toll on me.” His self-destructive behavior ultimately strained his relationship with Molly-Mae, and he realized that his addiction had made him incapable of being the partner she deserved.

Despite the intense media speculation about infidelity, Fury was adamant that cheating was never a factor in their split. “It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing,” he said. “You need to get a grip of it.

If you’re in the same spot as me, where you just think that it’s going to cure all your problems, it doesn’t. You wake up even worse and want to drink more to try and feel happy again. That’s the cycle of it.”

The boxer expressed his frustration with how the breakup was portrayed in the media, especially given that much of the coverage was based on rumors rather than the truth.

He emphasized that if the information didn’t come directly from him or Molly-Mae, it was “complete and utter bulls—.” For Tommy, the constant scrutiny and the flood of negative press have made an already painful situation even more difficult to navigate.

“I just wish people would’ve taken some time out, rather than giving me so much s— every day, to think maybe there was more going on. Not once did anyone ask how I was,” he remarked.

However, he was clear that he wasn’t looking for sympathy. Instead, his focus remains on his daughter, Bambi, who is nearly two years old.

“I just want to do my fights, earn my money, and look after my daughter,” he said, showing a deep commitment to his family. Fury acknowledged that regardless of the decisions he makes, public opinion will remain divided

“Whether I do the right thing or do the wrong thing, people are still going to hate me. As long as my family loves me, that’s all that matters,” he added.

Fury’s revelations come just two months after Molly-Mae had hinted in an interview with *British Vogue* that Tommy would eventually open up about the split.

She shared, “I do think that when he’s ready, like, maybe more will be said. But I think that’s for him to do on his terms.”

She also expressed her deep sorrow over the end of their relationship, reiterating that she had always wanted to marry Tommy and that this desire had never changed.

Molly-Mae had previously emphasized that the details of their breakup were private, stating, “No one will ever really know what went down apart from Tommy and I, and that’s how we’d like to keep it, for Bambi’s sake.”
