THE GLAMOROUS world of Strictly Come Dancing is known for its dazzling costumes, intricate choreography, and the undeniable chemistry between celebrities and their professional dance partners.
However, recently fans have voiced concerns that the boundary between the personal and professional is becoming increasingly blurred.
Wynne Evans recently was accused of being touchy feely on Strictly
Katya Jones could be seen moving his hand off her waist on camera
Chris McCausland has also been told off for kissing Dianne
During the latest episodes, viewers have taken to social media to express discomfort with celebrities getting “too intimate” with their dance partners.
While the show thrives on passion and emotion to bring the dances to life, some fans feel that certain duos are crossing a line.
One person hit out after Wynne Evans was photographed putting his hand on dancer Katya Jones’ hip, saying: “The problem with Strictly is lots of couples are very tactile & handsy with each other off the dance floor.
“Boundaries will inevitably be crossed. In addition to the Wynne incident, Chris is always kissing Dianne. I find that uncomfortable.”
Another echoed the sentiment, adding: “I’ve always thought that the dancing partners are overly handsy with each other.
“I guess they are trying to show the public how close they are, but it often comes across as fake, forced, and in this case, completely unwanted and inappropriate.”
A third slammed the entire programme, writing: “Cancel Strictly. Its so toxic.
“‘Couples’ encouraged to act like a genuine couple, arms around each other, hands on each others knees, and being very tactile during interview and when cameras on them during the show.”
An instance of close contact that got tongues wagging during this season of Strictly came when Chris McCausland pulled his partner Dianne Buswell in for a kiss on the wrist and cheek after completing an incredible routine together.
Meanwhile Wynne Evans has been outright slammed for his “wandering hand”.
A clip was released where the opera singer put his arm around Katya’s waist and she could be seen pushing his hand away.
Wynne took to the airwaves to explain the situation today, saying: “I’m absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day.
“It’s not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we’re really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke.
“It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK? We thought it was funny.
“It wasn’t funny. It was been totally misinterpreted.”
