The documentary, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, will be available to watch on ITV and ITVX at 9pm on October 30 and 31.
The two-part series will look at Prince William’s Homewards initiative in more detail as the prince, 42, takes steps to try and end homelessness across the UK.
The project, which was launched last year by the future King, has already focused on six key locations where the prince is hoping to make a “real change”.
The first-in-line to the throne responds: “I think everyone having a right to a safe and stable home benefits us all.
“I come with no other agenda than desperately trying to help people who are in need and I see that as part of my role is that why else would I be here if I’m not using this role properly to influence and help people where I can.
“I like a big challenge. I do like that, but I can’t do it on my own.”
The Prince of Wales presented at an awards evening on Wednesday (16 October) for the organisation Centrepoint, a youth homelessness charity also supported by his late mother, Princess Diana.
The Centrepoint Awards took place at London’s Natural History Museum and were “celebrating the remarkable achievements of young people who have transformed their lives after experiencing homelessness,” Prince William wrote on social media.
Homelessness is a cause close to the Prince’s heart and, earlier this week, he announced a new documentary with ITV about homelessness, and he also revealed his personal inspiration behind the cause.
The documentary follows the first year of Homewards, a programme launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, which aims to make homelessness “rare, brief and unrepeated.”
In a first-look clip of the documentary released by ITV on Wednesday (16 October), Prince William explains his motivation for establishing Homewards.
“I think everyone having a right to a safe and stable home benefits us all,” he says. “I come with no other agenda than desperately trying to help people who are in need.”
In a trailer for the documentary shared across social media on Monday (14 October), Prince William explains that his mother, Princess Diana, was part of his inspiration.
“I have taken some inspiration and guidance from what my mother did, particularly with homelessness,” he says.
The Prince visited homeless shelters with his mother while a child and, through his teens and adulthood, has since gone on to get involved with a variety of charities ahead of the new ITV show, Prince William: We can end homelessness.

In the trailer, the Prince of Wales says, “I’ve slowly tried to work out what I can bring to the role and the platform that I have,” adding, “I don’t believe we should be living with homelessness in the 21st century.”
One of the organisations Prince William has worked with is The Big Issue, and even donned a red vest himself to head out and sell copies to the public.

The trailer for the documentary was shared by ITV and the Prince of Wales across social media, with a caption reading: “An exclusive ITV1 documentary which follows the launch and first year of @homewardsuk and its work to demonstrate that it’s possible to end homelessness.”
