In the third episode of *Celebrity Bear Hunt*, the tension between Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas and Spice Girl Mel B reached a boiling point, 

sparking a heated disagreement that had viewers talking.

The conflict stemmed from Mel B’s provocative behavior towards her fellow campmates, which Shirley took issue with, culminating in a clash between the two.

The drama began as the campmates were navigating the challenges and living in close quarters in the Costa Rican jungle.

Mel B, known for her outspoken and often bold personality, made a series of provocative comments that left Shirley feeling increasingly frustrated.

In a candid moment, Shirley explained why she was so agitated: “I can let somebody be a diva for so long until I feel someone else is being picked on. I’ve dealt with divas in my industry all my life. There’s nothing that could shock me.”

Shirley went on to clarify that she has no issue with strong personalities, but she emphasized the importance of mutual respect when living in such a confined space. “When you’re living together and can’t retreat to your own home, all you ask for is mutual respect,” Shirley explained.

“If someone keeps pushing buttons just to get a reaction, I don’t like that. I think it’s completely unnecessary—though I know it makes great TV!” Shirley’s remarks reflected her frustration with Mel’s behavior, which she believed was designed to provoke others for entertainment value.

Despite her concerns, Shirley acknowledged the show’s reliance on conflict for dramatic moments, admitting, “I know it makes great TV!” However, her discomfort with the situation was palpable as she voiced her disapproval of Mel’s tactics.

Things escalated further in the fourth episode of *Celebrity Bear Hunt*, when Shirley’s team triumphed over Mel’s team in a challenging task called *Walk the Plank*.

This challenge required the contestants to cross a pit filled with critters, adding an extra layer of danger and excitement to the competition. When the teams returned to camp, Mel B’s frustration became evident.

The Spice Girl, known for her *Scary Spice* persona, made her displeasure known, confronting Shirley in a tense exchange.

Mel B said, “We all have to go in the pit sometimes,” to which Shirley responded with a sharp, “Excuse me?” When Mel repeated her comment, Shirley’s patience wore thin, and she retorted, “What’s the matter with you?”

The confrontation escalated as the two women continued to talk over one another. Shirley, attempting to maintain composure, explained, “Of course, I’m not here complaining, whining, or moaning. I’m not going to go in, so I don’t really know what your point is.”

Mel defended her position, saying, “I’m just talking to you,” but Shirley, clearly annoyed, shot back, “Well, you don’t really talk, do you? You direct, you’re in somebody’s face.”

The tension mounted as Mel fired back, “I know because I’m just who I am.” To which Shirley retorted, “You’re not exactly the most deliverable of messages, Mel.” Mel, not backing down, quickly replied, “Neither are you.”

This fiery exchange highlighted the clash of personalities between the two women. While Mel’s boldness and unapologetic demeanor came through in her words, Shirley’s frustration was clear as she sought a more respectful, collaborative environment.

*Celebrity Bear Hunt* is a reality competition series that premiered on Netflix, hosted by Holly Willoughby.

The show features a diverse mix of  celebrity participants, including Mel B, retired tennis champion Boris Becker, and journalist Steph McGovern, all of whom are tasked with surviving the challenging jungle environment.

Alongside Shirley, the lineup includes former *The Saturdays* member Una Healy, fashion model Lottie Moss, and actors like Joe Thomas from *The Inbetweeners* and Kola Bokinni from *Ted Lasso*.

In the heat of the Costa Rican jungle, the  celebrities must work together to complete survival tasks while evading capture by survival expert Bear Grylls.
