The 22-year-old point guard conveyed her appreciation for the opportunity to live out her childhood dream of playing in the WNBA, the premier women’s basketball league in the world.
“Year one ✅ — thank you to the many people who have supported me as I’ve been able to live my childhood dream. I’m filled with gratitude as I reflect on this past year of my life. See you all in year two,” Clark wrote on Instagram.

Clark’s rookie season concluded when the Indiana Fever were swept 2-0 by the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the playoffs. Although she was unable to lead her team on a deep playoff run, Clark’s impact in propelling the Fever to the postseason after an eight-year absence was significant.
In the two playoff games, Clark averaged 18 points, 8.5 assists, and five rebounds, shooting 35% from the field, including 20% from three-point range.
During the regular season, Clark was outstanding, earning Rookie of the Year honors for her historic and consistently impressive performances. The 22-year-old posted averages of 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 41.7% from the floor, including 34.4% from beyond the arc.
Caitlin Clark likely to remain away from basketball in offseason
Following the conclusion of her rookie season with a first-round playoff defeat, Caitlin Clark hinted that she may not play any professional basketball until the start of the next season.
“I was focused on beating the Connecticut Sun. I haven’t thought too far down the line. I don’t know what I am gonna do tomorrow,” Clark said after losing Game 2 against the Connecticut Sun.
“I’m gonna play some golf. That’s what I’m gonna do until it becomes too cold in Indiana. I’ll become a professional golfer,” she added.
Clark is unlikely to participate in the 3×3 Unrivaled basketball league, which is set to begin in January 2025. Several WNBA players, including her rival Angel Reese, have signed up to compete in the league during the offseason.
