With 2:28 to go in the fourth quarter and the Cowboys leading 20-15, Dallas was looking to close things out against New York at MetLife Stadium, so they called on Brandon Aubrey.

The overwhelming majority of the bets for Thursday night’s game were on the Dallas Cowboys, including the money bet on the spread.

The Cowboys didn’t play like many thought they would, so everything seemed to line up perfectly at the end.

Dallas closed as a 5.5-point favorite, and they led 20-15 late in the game when they sent Brandon Aubrey for a 51-yard field goal in the final minute.

It was the perfect way for bettors to end the night until it wasn’t.

Aubrey has been practically automatic during his NFL career and had never missed a field goal of 50 yards or longer before lining up for that field goal in the final minute.

A 51-yarder for Aubrey should’ve been easy, but the kick started out going straight down the middle before suddenly and suspiciously hooking to the right.

What the hell?

The movement of that ball from Brandon Aubrey, as well as Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott seen laughing on the sidelines, had a ton of people thinking the league was rigged.

Cowboys Kicker Brandon Aubrey Extended NFL Record On Thursday Night

Bettors who wagered on the Cowboys to cover a 5.5-point spread saw victory flash before their eyes when Brandon Aubrey missed his first-ever 50-yard field goal.

Aubrey, who was 12-for-12 on field goals this season and 48-for-50 in his career, shockingly missed one of the easier field goals he has ever had.

Earlier in the game, Aubrey had nailed a 60-yard field goal that extended his record for the longest such streak to start a career by any kicker in NFL history.

Unfortunately, that field goal won’t be remembered since so many people are upset about his final one.
