Some NFL fans are convinced that the Green Bay Packers’ defenders are purposely trying to cause another head-related injury to Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
The 26-year-old Tua Tagovailoa missed four games earlier this season after suffering a concussion in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills. It was the third confirmed concussion of Tagovailoa’s career.
Dave Furones of the Sun Sentinel shared a video clip of Packer defenders bringing Tagovailoa down for a sack. Furones accused Green Bay players of intentionally trying to make contact with his head:
Fuurones wasn’t alone, as other fans accused the Packers of trying to cause another injury to Tua Tagovailoa:
“Packers kick Tua in the head 5 seconds after the play, and it’s unnecessary roughness on the Dolphins. Good job refs,” one fan said.
“Tua just took 15 shots to the head when the packers were getting up from the pile,” another fan stated.
“Packers need to relax smacking Tua’s head on the ground,” said one observer.
“Packers going at Tua’s head…,” a fan said.
“F these refs ! Screwed Dolphins out of a fumble and then Tua just got stepped on his head and BS penalty. Packers player pushed first !!,” another frustrated fan wrote.
“If that is Mahomes, Allen etc that draws a flag immediately,” a user said.
“Yeah I thought that looked quite unnecessary,” a fan wrote.
“I noticed the same thing. One guy literally pushed his head against the ground. The league should review this,” another viewer said.
Some Fans Want Tua Tagovailoa To Retire
There were some calls for Tua Tagovailoa to put his health first and retire after the game against Buffalo in Week 2. However, after consulting with doctors, he decided to continue his football career.
Tagovailoa has stayed healthy since returning from his third concussion. Let’s hope it stays that way.
