Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been accused of throwing shade at teammate Joe Burrow following their marginal loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.

The Bengals have been treated to a season sweep by the Ravens, losing to them in yet another close game this season.

It came down to a failed two-point conversion attempt after Burrow and Chase connected for a touchdown that brought them to within one.

Chase apparently wanted to be the target for the conversion attempt, but the QB looked elsewhere and threw an incompletion, although two clear penalties went uncalled on the play.

“As a receiver you should want the ball yes, but sometimes Joe don’t see it, you know,” he told reporters in his post-game presser, leading to suggestions of shade-throwing.

The comment got mixed reactions from fans.

“he doesn’t look his way every single time obviously, it’s not shade at all,” one pointed out.

“This is a reach, buddy,” said another.

“He wasn’t open.  Why he cryin’,” another wrote.

“He’s just keeping it real lol, & to be honest chase should’ve got it,  50/50 ball idgaf he was hot, & u gambled & went for two💯,” said a fourth.

Ja’Marr Chase Had A Historic Outing On Thursday

Meanwhile, Ja’Marr Chase has made NFL history as he’s become the first wide receiver to torch a certain team the way he has this season.

After going for 193 yards against Baltimore in Week 5, he recorded 264 on Thursday, bringing his total to 457, the most any NFL receiver has registered against one opponent in a single season.

The last wideout to do so was the Oakland Raiders’ Art Powell, who went for 428 yards in two games against the Houston Oilers in 1963.
