Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders blew up the internet with a video game-like touchdown to wide receiver Jimmy Horn in Thursday night’s opener against the North Dakota State Bison.

After the Bison took the league on a Cam Miller touchdown to Joe Stoffel, Shedeur Sanders responded on the second play of the ensuing drive by throwing a gem of a 70-yard touchdown to Horn in a play that better be played on highlight reels all week long.

Sanders evaded a sack at the last moment and threw a dart downfield to Horn, who took it to the house to give Colorado the lead.

Well, that’s what happens when you give Shedeur Sandersthe time and protection that he didn’t have a year ago.

And on Colorado’s opening drive, Sanders hit two-way star Travis Hunter for a 41-yard touchdown on a short six-play drive that only took 2:41. Needless to say, Deion Sanders’ son has not missed a beat.

In his first year at Colorado last year, Shedeur turned heads by completing 69.3 percent of his pass attempts for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and only three interceptions to go along with four touchdowns.

Colorado jumped out to a perfect 3-0 start last season, only to lose eight of their final nine games to finish 4-8. Though it was a sour end to a once-promising season, the Buffs nonetheless made progress by quadrupling their win total from 2022.

Sanders’ stats were especially impressive when you consider that he took more sacks than any other quarterback in the nation last year. Deion and company recruited several offensive linemen to fix the issue, landing notable names from the transfer portal like Indiana’s Kahlil Benson and Matthew Bedford and Houston’s Tyler Johnson.

Shedeur Sanders Is A Top 2025 NFL Draft Prospect

A lot can change between now and the 2024 NCAA football season, but Sanders is widely projected to be a top-10 pick in next year’s NFL Draft. He’s considered one of the “big three” quarterback prospects in the 2025 Draft class along with Georgia’s Carson Beck and Texas’ Quinn Ewers
