It’s not often that Matt Stafford makes a terrible mistake, but he indeed committed one on Sunday Night Football.

Detroit Lions defensive back Kerby Joseph made him commit one when he plucked Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford for a costly interception thrown in the end zone.

It turns out that Stafford may have been tricked into making such a mistake.

An online conspiracy theory says the Detroit Lions purposely painted their end zones the same color as their jerseys, making it hard for Matt Stafford to determine if Lions players were near his teammates.

Now, we do not know this to be true, but it would be quite genius if the team did this to help out the players.

The Rams-Lions matchup again pits two quarterbacks – Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff – squaring off against their former teams.

The Los Angeles Rams are hoping to get some payback against the team that ended their season.

Matt Stafford Facing The Lions For The First Time Since The Playoffs

Matt Stafford was on the Lions for years before he was traded to the Rams and would go on to win a Super Bowl.

Stafford has a 4-4 record in the playoffs in his career, and one of those losses came when he faced his former team in January.

Booed on just about every play, Stafford dominated his former team, passing for 367 yards and two touchdowns, but Detroit escaped with a 24-23 win.

The Lions went on to beat Tampa Bay before blowing a big lead against San Francisco in the NFC championship.

Matt Stafford is now looking to exact some revenge.
