The Entire Internet Destroyed Dallas Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy For His Ridiculous Decision During ‘Thursday Night Football’ vs. Giants

NFL fans had the same complaint about Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy during ‘Thursday Night Football’ against the New York Giants.

The Cowboys saved their season (for now) with a heart-pounding 20-15 road victory over their NFC East rivals. But Mike McCarthy was not immune to criticism, especially when it came to the offensive play-calling.

Dallas’ sloppy defense rebounded nicely by holding the Giants to five field goals, but the offense was surprisingly ineffective in the second half after scoring two first-half touchdowns. Dak Prescott and company were held to six points in the final 30 minutes, keeping the Giants in a game they had little business winning.

Fans were especially critical of Mike McCarthy because of some of his questionable play calls on offense. He had star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb carry the ball three times for eight yards, unnecessarily putting his best weapon at risk of injury.

And social media let McCarthy have it:

After a frustrating outing in Sunday’s Week 3 home loss to the Baltimore Ravens, CeeDee Lamb bounced back nicely with seven catches for 98 yards that included a 55-yard touchdown.

Mike McCarthy’s Seat Cools Down For Now

There have been calls for Jerry Jones to fire McCarthy since the loss to Baltimore, but the veteran head coach cooled off the speculation for now by helping Dallas barely sneak by the Giants.

At 2-2, their season is far from over.
