The Indiana Fever duo of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell have been making quite the buzz since the season resumed after the International break. Mitchell and Clark have been among the big reasons responsible for their team’s relative success.
The Fever beat the Dallas Wings 110-109 in a thrilling contest on Sunday. Both Clark and Mitchell delivered exceptional performances on the court.
Clark scored 35 points while Mitchell netted 30, helping their team secure the win. A fan made a post on X, suggesting some nicknames he saw floating around on the internet.

He listed five nicknames with the ‘Splash Sisters’ deriving direct inspiration from the infamous Golden State Warriors’ ‘Splash Brothers’.
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson earned the nicknames ‘Splash Brothers’ after the duo dominated their opposition from downtown, raining down threes and establishing the Warriors dynasty in the NBA.
Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark have been very similar to Thompson and Curry in that regard. The duo have been incredible from downtown and shoot a significant amount of threes in their games. Against the Wings on Sunday, Clark went 6 of 14 from downtown while Mitchell went 6 of 12 from the same.
This season, Clark is averaging 34.1% from beyond the arc while Mitchell is at an impressive 40.2%. The great chemistry of the two players on the court make them tough opponents for other teams.
When Aliyah Boston is added into the mix, the Fever has a great offensive backcourt with an incredible rim protector. Las Vegas Aces coach Becky Hammon also praised the trio after their recent faceoff, comparing them to a three-headed monster.
Kelsey Mitchell offers her insight on the nickname for her partnership with Caitlin Clark
After the Sunday game, Kelsey Mitchell was asked about a nickname for her partnership with Caitlin Clark. The Fever guard expressed her confusion, but later on, suggested one nickname floating around in the community.
“Oh no, not yet. We’ll figure out one,” Mitchell said on being asked about a nickname for her partnership with Clark.
“Ah, KC Squared, or something else maybe. I don’t know yet, maybe I’ll find something, let me know,” she added.
The Indiana Fever has clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2016 and major credit for the achievement goes to the backcourt duo of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell. For now, the Fever will be playing the Washington Mystics on Thursday to close out their regular season.
