'Sorry, Megadeth, I Had to Rat on You': Peter Frampton Says Megadeth Soundcheck Did 'Structural Damage' to Richmond Venue Stage

Peter Frampton claimed that Megadeth’s soundcheck did “structural” damage to the stage at Richmond Venue.A few days ago, Megadeth and Peter Frampton had to cancel their shows at Virginia Credit Union Live! at the Richmond Raceway of Richmond, Virginia.

Megadeth swiftly noted on social media that “unexpected and unpredictable circumstances” caused this cancellation, but did not delve into further details.

Peter Frampton cancelled his concert at the same venue two days later, mentioning the same “unexpected and unpredictable circumstances” on his social media.

However, Frampton revealed a few details about what happened while performing at The Met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Thursday, September 19th.

Frampton spoke to the crowd, and claimed that Megadeth’s soundcheck damaged the stage:

“So, we had a show cancelled the other day because of the weather.

And also Megadeth did a soundcheck, I think a couple of days before our show, and after they finished their soundcheck, there was structural damage to the stage.”

Frampton noted that he wasn’t holding grudges over the matter, but rather pointing out the cause of his concert cancellation:

“I’m not blaming them — could have been another band — but it looks pretty like it. So, sorry, Megadeth. I had to rat on you.”
