Three individuals have reportedly been arrested and charged for selling items they claimed were signed by former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce.
Kelce is one of the most popular ex-athletes in the United States, having retired last year after an illustrious career in Philly. He remains relevant given that he’s now one of the voices at ESPN, while he also hosts a podcast with his brother Travis called ‘New Heights.’
According to the New York Post, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office in Pennsylvania has revealed that three people have been charged for selling over 1,000 fake Kelce-signed items.
The defendants, Robert Capone, LeeAnn Branco, and Joseph Parenti, have been hit with over 60 charges, including forgery, theft, and deceptive business practices, having been accused of selling around $200,000 in forged memorabilia.
The items were listed for sale on Capone’s Overtime Promotions and Parenti’s Diamond Legends, along with claims that they were signed at a hotel near Philadelphia last June.

Jerseys, hats, photos, footballs, and helmets were among the items sold, with buyers purchasing in the belief that they were signed by the former Eagles offensive lineman.
Branco is said to have verified the memorabilia, given his status as an authenticator for Beckett Authentications Services.
The company that hosted Kelce’s official autograph session reported the forgeries to police. The three people charged will attend a preliminary court hearing in early February.
Meanwhile, Kelce is set to go to New Orleans with ESPN for the Super Bowl and will hope that his former team will be involved as they are playing in the NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders this weekend.
