Some photos have resurfaced online following Derrick Rose’s retirement from basketball, and fans are referring to him as the greatest of all time.

The NBA point guard decided to call it a career this Thursday after being waived by the Memphis Grizzlies at his request.

“Knowing that I gave my all to the game, I feel confident in my decision,” he told ESPN. “Basketball was just the beginning for me. Now, it’s important that I give my all to my family — they deserve that.”

Speaking of family… As mentioned above, photos have resurfaced in the wake of Rose’s retirement, showing him hanging out with his kids, his wife, and his baby mama.

Derrick Rose’s Career Marks One Of The Biggest What-Ifs In Sports History

Derrick Rose was drafted as the No. 1 overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in 2008. A Chicago native, he spent seven years with his hometown team before spells with the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, and Memphis Grizzlies.

Rose’s career marks one of the biggest what-ifs for fans, given the trajectory he was on before an ACL tear made it so that he was never the same.

The guard’s first three years in the NBA suggested he would go on to become one of the greats as he became the youngest-ever MVP in 2011. Sadly, a string of nasty knee injuries left him a shell of himself, though it hardly meant he wouldn’t be a dependable contributor throughout his remaining time in the league.
