Julianne Hough joined the chorus of congratulations for her ex-husband Brooks Laich after he announced his engagement to Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir on Friday, Dec. 27.
“Congratulations,” the Dancing with the Stars cohost, 36, wrote on Instagram. “I’m so happy for you both as you step into this beautiful new chapter together. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless adventures! ❤️✨.”
“Thank you for the kinds words, much love Jules!” Laich, 41, replied.
Hough’s sister-in-law, Hayley Erbert, also celebrated the news. “🥹🥹🥹 So happy for you two 🤍🤍,” she wrote.
“thanks buddy!!!!!🙌,” Laich replied to Erbert, who is married to Hough’s brother, Derek Hough.

The retired NHL player and Davíðsdóttir, 31, a champion CrossFit athlete, got engaged on Dec. 16, the couple announced in a joint Instagram post.
“Forever feels just right with you!” the two wrote, alongside four photos of the couple in an embrace.
Davíðsdóttir and Laich have been dating since at least August 2021, when they went Instagram official. After attending the 2021 NOBULL CrossFit Games in Madison, Wis., to support Davíðsdóttir, Laich shared photos of the two on vacation in Hawaii.
Hough and Laich married in 2017 and announced their split in 2020. They finalized their divorce in 2022.
In November, Hough confirmed on Dancing with the Stars that she is still single. “Well, you know, I am single and I’m looking for a guy anywhere I can find one,” she jokingly told cohost Alfonso Ribeiro after a surprise performance.

“Honestly, I am just keeping my heart open and kind of just letting the seasons flow and I’m focusing on Dancing with the Stars,” Hough told PEOPLE in October at a Real Matches Are Back event. “But my heart is open, I’m ready for it, but I’m not actively looking for anything.”
Although her desire for romance is still “there,” Hough told PEOPLE she was now focused on personal growth.
“For me, I just feel like it’s just part of my life,” she explained. “It’s not like it’s ever a destination. It’s just always going to be a part of my life. I really enjoy going on retreats and connecting and it’s just a part of my life.”
