Caitlin Clark delivers 3-word reaction to Fever teammate’s “babysitter” shoutout after First Team All-WNBA selection
Caitlin Clark garnered significant praise from her Indiana Fever teammates and fans after being named to the 2024 All-WNBA First Team. Clark became the first rookie in 16 years to earn this honor, following in the footsteps of Candace Parker, who was the last player to achieve the milestone, in 2008.
Clark received a heartwarming shout-out from her Fever teammate Katie Lou Samuelson, who shared a picture of the Indiana’s star point guard with her daughter on her Instagram story, accompanied by a caption.
“Shoutout to the babysitter @caitlinclark22, First Team All WNBA (check emoji),” Samuelson wrote on her story.
Caitlin Clark responded to her teammate’s shout-out with a heartfelt comment:
“love you hehe (heart emojis).”

The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year was named to a star-studded All-WNBA First Team, which also included A’ja Wilson from the Las Vegas Aces, Breanna Stewart from the New York Liberty, Napheesa Collier from the Minnesota Lynx and Alyssa Thomas from the Connecticut Sun.
The Fever star garnered 52 First Team votes, 14 Second Team votes and amassed a total of 302 points in the selection process.
Clark’s selection to the All-WNBA First Team was well earned, as the standout point guard delivered an electrifying performance in her rookie season.
The former Iowa superstar averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game during the regular season, shattering records and setting new milestones along the way.
Caitlin Clark on winning awards and breaking records
Caitlin Clark offered a modest response to being named to the All-WNBA First Team, expressing gratitude to the Indiana Fever for letting her play authentically. The young star emphasized that breaking records is a result of playing the game the right way rather than focusing on individual accolades.
“I mean, it’s not even something that you’re really ever aware of, you know, breaking records. It’s just something that comes with playing the game the right way,” Clark said in a video shared by the Indiana Fever on its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
“I just come out here and try to play basketball in a way that people love watching, the way that it is going to make my team successful and the records and whatever or the stats, that’s just what comes with it, but at the end of the day, I feel very thankful to be in a position and on a franchise that has really allowed me to really be myself and to come in here and try to uplift this team in every way that I can.”
Clark appeared in all 42 games for the Fever during the 2024 season, including both playoff games against the Connecticut Sun. She was the driving force behind Indiana’s long-awaited return to the playoffs, ending an eight-year drought.
