Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian openly supported one fan requesting the WNBA to emulate a reality show focused on several National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) players.

“The Offseason” is a show that gathered 11 NWSL players who trained together in Miami during the 2024 offseason, giving fans access to their lives, both on and off the field. After the second episode dropped on X (formerly Twitter), several fans reacted to it. One of them asked for a similar show created by the WNBA.

Ohanian had a four-word response to that request, opening the door for a potential WNBA version of the show.

“Can we get the WNBA version of this show?” the fan asked.

“I couldn’t agree more….” Ohanian responded.

Having Ohanian backing up this idea is big for fans, since he is one of the co-creators of the docuseries alongside NJ/NY Gotham FC forward Midge Purce.

The WNBA offseason starts in September and lasts until May. The league has multiple players that could draw enough attention to make this show successful. Perhaps after the busy 2024 season and the storylines it had, working on this docuseries would be a good idea.

Meanwhile, women’s basketball keeps drawing a lot of attention and with all the new talent coming to the WNBA, that trend will continue for many years.

Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian celebrated women’s sports’ growth after Liberty WNBA championship run

Alexis Ohanian has been very active in supporting women’s sports, especially the WNBA. He hyped up Angel Reese amid her magical rookie season, but always paid attention to the rest of stuff happening within the league.

Once the New York Liberty secured the 2024 WNBA championship, a lot of people attended their championship parade.

Ohanian was ecstatic to know this and took to X to hail the growth that the W had this year.

“Everyone watches women’s sports. Enjoy the parade, NYC! Y’all are champions.”

After 28 years of existence, being one of the original eight teams that founded the WNBA, the New York Liberty finally won the championship. In their sixth attempt, the Liberty defeated their old demons and secured their win against the Minnesota Lynx in six games.

They clinched the No. 1 seed in the league (32-8) before sweeping the Atlanta Dream, taking care of the team that beat them in the Finals last season. They then beat the No. 2 seed Lynx to win the title with Alexis Ohanian watching from home.
