Napheesa Collier’s husband Alex Bazzell compares her game to Steph Curry

For any basketball player to be included even in the same conversation as Steph Curry is ultimate respect to their talent. But Napheesa Collier has earned her right to be named among some of the biggest names in basketball.

Last season, the reigning WNBA Defensive Player of the Year had arguably the best season of her career. Not only did she dominate on the defensive end, she also led her team’s offense from the front.

In conversation with “The Minnesota Star Tribune,” Collier’s husband Alex Bazzell, who is also her personal coach, gave the WNBA star a big compliment. Bazzell said that Collier’s off-the-ball instincts are similar to Steph Curry’s.

“I would compare it to Steph [Curry] in the NBA,” Bazzell said. “It’s what makes him great and her great. They’re not just running around, they’re cutting with a purpose. Always at the right moment. That’s impossible to game-plan for. You can look at tendencies all you want. But there’s not a lot of tendencies in feel.”

Bazzell also added that when it comes to shooting the ball, Collier has a touch like former NBA superstar and 10-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony, one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.

Last season, Napheesa Collier averaged 20.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. She also shot 49.2% from the field and 31.0% from the 3-point line.
