While discussing Prevacus, Favre shared that he’d been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

The NFL icon talked more about his diagnosis on X (formerly Twitter), sharing his gratitude to his family and friends for supporting him amid the difficult situation.

“First, I want to thank God for all He has done in my life,” Favre wrote. “Next, thanks to Congress for giving me the platform to discuss a much needed TANF reform. As you know, I was recently diagnosed w/ Parkinson’s which has been an ordeal. My wife, family, and friends have been supportive and I want to thank them for being there for me.

He added, “To my fans and those wishing well — thank you all for the love.”

Brett Favre’s fans quickly took to the reply section of the post to show their love and support for the Super Bowl champion and three-time NFL MVP.

Former ESPN reporter Jason Whitlock shared, “Praying for you, brother.”

A supporter added, “Hang in there brother. Prayers.”

“You brought us all some great entertainment. The best? The night when your father died. We all felt it. I believe you were in Oakland. After that, as a lifelong vikings fan, you took a beating and you stuck it out. You’ll always be one of the best Brett. Take care of yourself,” an emotional supporter stated.

“Thank you for sharing your career with us fans….and thank you for sharing this very personal decision as well. We are with you,” a sixth supporter said.

According to Mayo Clinic, Parkinson’s disease “is a movement disorder of the nervous system that worsens over time.” Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for the disease, though there are medicines to help control the symptoms.

It’s certainly heartbreaking to see Favre suffer from Parkinson’s. Sure enough, hopes are high that he receives the help he needs as he deals with the disease.
