The New York Knicks have been looking to dominate this season in order to push for the title. While they started their journey on the right note, their inconsistent performance soon became a reason for headaches. In their last match against the Chicago Bulls, the Knicks came tantalizingly close to winning. However, losing by just a point, the 123-124 loss has been stinging badly.
Next up, with eyes firmly fixated on getting back on the winning track, the Knicks will be up against the Brooklyn Nets. Led by their head coach, Tom Thibodeau, the fans and management alike have high expectations from their mainstays, Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson. Now, Jalen’s father, Rick Brunson, is also on the coaching team. And recently, he reflected on the ratio between Thibodeau and Hart, terming the latter ‘selfish’!
Now, the duo recently made an appearance on an episode of ‘The Roommate’ podcast. Speaking about Thibodeau’s coaching tactics, Hart mentioned something unique. Hart stated that he usually gets mentally exhausted if Thibodeau doubles down on the same play a couple of days before the game. Well, the ability of Hart to grasp the tactics in one go was unique. However, Brunson quickly chimed in to say that there might be others who wanted to revise the play.
Brunson then went on to define the perspective of how a coach teaches his players. Brunson termed Hart ‘selfish’ in a funny manner. “Someone you have to let the other guys catch up to you. So when Thibs is teaching, maybe Tuesday he’s teaching you, and on Wednesday he’s teaching the next player. You’re selfish, you want him to stop, so you want class to be over. When Josh gets it, it’s over that’s what you’re saying,” Brunson stated.
Well, that’s some lesson for Josh Hart to remember. That was not the only surprising statement made by Josh Hart in recent times. He also asked the NBA to drug test the Boston Celtics athletes.
Josh Hart Amazed At Boston Celtics’ Play
It was a hard pill for the Knicks to swallow. Despite their best efforts, the Celtics proved why they are the defending champion. The duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum looked invincible as they cruised to a 132-109 victory. However, despite the gloomy outcome for the Knicks, Josh Hart found a way to joke about the impressive display from the Celtics’ outfit.
Reflecting on their loss, Josh Hart jokingly mentioned that the Celtics’ athletes must be on some kind of substance. Otherwise, it would not have been possible for them to put up such a dominating show. “The NBA needs to drug test them, dudes. I ain’t ever seen anything like that,” Hart said.
Well, jokes apart, Josh Hart and the entire Knicks’ team will have to pull up their socks now. Otherwise, with the games coming thick and fast, it might not be long before the Knicks would find them knocked out.
