Back in May 2021, Alan Jackson entered the studio to record his latest album Where Have You Gone.
Having produced a prosperous career in country music, Jackson spent the last four decades leaving his mark on the genre. And that mark included songs like “Remember When”, “The Older I Get”, and “Country Boy.” Continuing to record and perform, one fan found herself scammed out of $3,000 when she thought she was speaking with Jackson.
As the internet expanded, scammers found new ways to swindle people out of their money. It seemed that with each passing year, there was a new scam that targeted fans of certain artists. Some scammers even posed as the IRS or some government agency hoping to get people to hand over back account information or other sensitive details.
According to reports, the Georgia woman was first contacted by a person named Baker, who claimed to be Jackson’s agent. Even though the country star’s manager is actually Debbie Doebler, the woman was more than eager to help. After explaining to the individual that Jackson had his assets frozen due a divorce, the woman quickly jumped to help the singer. Thankfully, the woman shared her good deeds on Facebook, causing on friend to contact the police.
Alan Jackson Still Married To High School Sweetheart
Once speaking with the woman, police informed her she was being scammed. When looking at Jackson’s past, it seemed easy to see. First off, back in 1979, Jackson married Denise. And even now, the two are still together. The other red flag was when the scammer claimed to be Jackson’s manager. Sadly, the scammer didn’t care to do their research and give the correct name. But no matter what – they still walked away with $3000.
Not the first celebrity to find out scammers were using their fame to steal money, Jackson shared a post on Twitter back in August 2022, urging fans that his official account always featured the blue checkmark. “From Alan’s Team: Alan Jackson’s pages are all assigned a blue checkmark by his name which means the profile has been verified. If there is no blue checkmark, it is NOT Alan!”
