The ‘Yellowstone’ prequel premiered three years ago today.
Tim McGraw “can’t believe” it’s been three years since 1883 premiered—and neither can we!
On Thursday, the 57-year-old multihyphenate shared an Instagram montage featuring a few of his favorite moments from filming the Yellowstone prequel, some of which included his wife and co-star, Faith Hill.
The video cycled through several short clips from the fan-favorite western, one of which showed the country artist in character as James Dutton and riding a horse while attempting to corral a bull. It then cut to a steamy scene between McGraw and his wife as they cozy up in a bathtub and share a passionate kiss.
“Can’t believe it’s been 3 years since the first episode of 1883 aired!” McGraw gushed in the accompanying caption. “So many great memories from filming that show!” he added in the Dec. 19 Instagram upload.
Fans appeared just as surprised once they realized how much time had passed since the show first aired, with one exclaiming in the replies, “Wow!!! Time flies!”
“Watched it twice,” another top-liked comment read. “The best thing to come out of Yellowstone.”
“It was so great, definitely the best prequel series,” a third agreed. “Great acting by Faith and yourself, wish we got more seasons.👏🙌.”
“1883 is one of the best TV shows I ever watched and enjoyed,” one more declared. “What powerful storytelling, acting, directing. Heartbreaking, passionate and raw. Just superb.❤️.”
Luckily, for fans of the series, which wrapped in February 2022, it appears another installment is coming. Its creator, Taylor Sheridan, previously said 1883 was intended to be a miniseries. But recently, the streamer hinted that Season 2 could be in the works, teasing, “There’s more 1883 coming.” All 10 episodes of Season 1 are currently streaming on Paramount+.
As for the “Standing Room Only” crooner, he appears to be feeling a little nostalgic as 2024 comes to a close. A few weeks back, McGraw honored another career milestone worth celebrating—the 20th anniversary of Live Like You Were Dying—with a series of throwback photos.
“Still can’t believe we’re celebrating 20 years of Live Like You Were Dying,” McGraw wrote in the caption accompanying his Dec. 4 Instagram post. “It’s been an honor to be the messenger for this song and thank you to all the fans for being on this journey with me.”
Shortly before that, the three-time Grammy winner teased fans with another decades-old clip, this time of him and his wife of 28 years singing “Good Hearted Women” at the 2012 Country Music Awards.
