Tiger Woods’ ex-coach Hank Haney opened up about the Presidents Cup after the first day of the biennial tournament. The prestigious team event kicked off on Thursday, 26 September, and Team USA dominated on the green. They won all fourball matches on Thursday, taking an impressive five-point lead.

Team USA is widely known for their dominance at the Presidents Cup. They have an impressive record of 12-1-1 and have not lost any edition of the tournament in the last nine outings. In 2024, they again started with some impressive performances and are leading the game.

Following the first round, a golf fan opened up about the prestigious tournament, writing:

“The Presidents Cup over after Day 1? I wonder why…..”

Coach Haney reshared the post, taking a jibe at the tournament. He wrote:

“What an absolute joke of an event this is.”

Haney worked with Tiger Woods during the prime of his career. Their partnership started in 2004, two years after Woods parted ways with then-coach Butch Harmon in 2002.

The 15-time major winner had a successful partnership with Haney. In their six years of working together, Woods won 31 PGA Tour events and clinched six major championships. However, it came to an end in 2010.

Interestingly, Woods served as the USA team captain for the Presidents Cup in 2019. That year, the tournament was held at Royal Melbourne Golf Club, and the USA team registered a win by two points.
