Authorities in Los Angeles have revealed the cause of the July 19 death of Slash’s stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight at 25.
Los Angeles County’s medical examiner released a statement Thursday saying that Lucy-Bleu Knight’s cause of death was hydrogen sulfide toxicity, and that the ‘manner of death is suicide.’
Officials said that ‘Knight was found unresponsive in a private residence on July 19 by law enforcement conducting a welfare check,’ and that she was pronounced dead at 3 p.m. local time.
A deputy medical examiner conducted the exam on July 22, and certified the cause of death as of Thursday, officials said.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website said that Hydrogen sulfide is ‘a colorless, flammable, highly toxic gas’ and that symptoms of acute exposure ‘include nausea, headaches, delirium, disturbed equilibrium, tremors, convulsions, and skin and eye irritation.’

The musical stalwart announced his beloved stepdaughter’s death in a heartbreaking Instagram statement on July 22.
‘My heart is permanently fractured,’ Slash said in an emotional July 27 post on Instagram, sharing a poignant selfie of Lucy-Bleu in which he detailed his grief. ‘I will never ever stop missing you & remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity & beauty you have always been … & still are.’
He continued: ‘The brightest light in the lives of so many that loved you so much. I find solace in the hope that you are at peace now. I will love you eternally.’
Slash had canceled four tour dates of his solo S.E.R.P.E.N.T Tour to grieve his devastating loss.

The statement continued: ‘Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.
