“I’ve been begging Jonathan” – Simone Biles opens up on her preparations for Christmas along with her husband amid busy schedules
After an incredible campaign in the gym this season, Simone Biles is now enjoying the festive spirit of December. As the holidays approach, the gymnast recently revealed that she’s been asking her husband, Jonathan Owens, for help on one very particular thing.
Biles and Owens first met on the celebrity dating app Raya in 2020, just before the Covid-19 lockdown. The two soon went public, sharing snaps of their time with each other with fans.
The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2022 and were married a little over a year later, first at a courthouse in their hometown of Houston, before heading to Cabo, Mexico, for a destination wedding.
Biles and Owens have both led a hectic schedule this year, as the former only recently concluded her Olympic campaign and the ‘Gold Over America’ tour. Meanwhile, Owens’s year has seen him make his debut for the Chicago Bears, and the ongoing NFL season has kept the couple in a long-distance relationship.
Now, as the gymnast and NFL star plan their Christmas together, Simone Biles revealed that she’s done decorating most of their house but needs her husband’s help on one final thing.
“I’ve been begging Jonathan to go down in the basement and to get the tree,” she told People Magazine.

She began her season competing domestically, with an appearance at the Core Hydration Classic, where she won the all-around events with ease. From there the gymnast went on to dominate the competition at the US National Championships, winning gold in all five events.
Post this, Biles impressed at the US Olympic Trials to qualify for her third consecutive Games. In Paris, the American helped the USA clinch the team gold medal while individually winning the all-around and vault events and taking a silver for her floor routine.
After the Olympics, the 27-year-old began the second iteration of her ‘Gold Over America’ tour. Now, Simone Biles has finally wrapped up her busy schedule, just in time for the holidays. Recently, in an appearance on the Kelly Clarkson show, the gymnast revealed that wrapping gifts is the one Christmas skill she cannot master, saying,
“I am a horrible wrapper. Everything goes in bags. I don’t care what it is. Everything goes in bags, I’ll make Jonathan wrap his own Christmas presents. I’m horrible at it. The paper tears, it looks like a kindergartener did it.”
Apart from prepping for the holidays, Simone Biles’ off-season has also seen her make multiple appearances in the crowd for NFL Games, cheering for her husband Jonathan Owens, and his team, the Chicago Bears.
