The Cyrus family feud rumors just “Can’t Be Tamed.” Reports have claimed that Miley Cyrus and her family have been at odds for the past two years.

We all remember the adorable bond that Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus shared while on the Disney show Hannah Montana, as their daughter-father bond wasn’t just for the cameras, it was their real life.

However, a shake to the Cyrus family apparently began after Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus separated in April 2022. Rumors spread that a family rift had occurred as the former couple began new relationships with other partners — leaving their kids to pick a side.

Although, according to Billy Ray, none of the reports was true. The country singer moved on from his previous marriage and got engaged to Firerose in August 2022. He told People at the time that his family had “no hard feelings” about his new relationship.

“Everyone knew that that relationship was over a long time ago,” Billy Ray said about his ex-wife. “Everybody’s turning the page.”

Speculation died down for a year until Tish married Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell in August 2023. Noah Cyrus and Braison Cyrus, were noticeably absent during the ceremony — which raised questions as to why.

While Miley had reportedly skipped out on her dad’s own nuptials, she attended her mom’s wedding and was also the maid of honor! She was joined by older sister Brandi Cyrus, who was a bridesmaid, and brother Trace Cyrus, as well.

“Dom, along with Miley, planned the entire thing,” Tish told Vogue at the time. “They knew we would all be together as a family and thought it would be the perfect time!”

As fans wondered why some Noah wasn’t in attendance or a bridesmaid, an ET source alleged that Noah wasn’t invited at all. ”

Noah and Tish haven’t been close since Tish started dating Dominic,” the insider revealed. “Tish didn’t invite Noah to her wedding because she thought it would cause a scene and drama.”

April 2022

Billy and Tish ended their 30-year marriage on April 22, 2022m citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to documents obtained by People.

The former couple released a joint statement to the same outlet, saying, “It is after 30 years, five amazing children and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts. We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths.”

September 2022

Following her parent’s separation, Noah collaborated with her father in the music studio. The singer dropped her song “Noah (Stand Still)” on her album, The Hardest Part. 

After the track was released, Billy Ray shared his excitement for his daughter’s music. “So proud of @noahcyrus. You wrote a great song and delivered a killer performance,” he wrote on Instagram.

Noah responded to the sweet comment saying, “The honor is mine daddy!!! so grateful to share this track I wrote about you, pappy and papaw Cyrus .. you’re my hero and inspiration .. I love u ❤️”

The potential source behind the alleged feud finally came to light, after Us Weekly reported that Noah had casually dated Dominic before he got involved with her mother.

“Noah was [seeing] Dominic when Tish started pursuing him,” the source told Us, and claimed that Tish “was aware” of the situation.

Noah is subtly sharing her support for Miley’s ex. Liam Hemsworth took to Instagram to post a gym selfie to promote his new film. He captioned the photo saying, “A massive thank you to everyone that has watched Land of Bad! The feedback has been awesome. Extremely grateful for all the love and support!”

According to Page Six, Noah originally “liked” the post — but has since “unliked” it.

In late April, Noah responded to a commenter under an IG post which referenced the drama between her and her mother.

Sharing an Instagram post featuring a clip of Lana Del Rey, she wrote,”Dear lord when I get to heaven, please let me bring my man.”

One follower wrote under the post, “Like that guy u and ur mom both have sexy time with?” Noah didn’t hold back, and fired off an NSFW response.

“I’m so sorry burt will you pleeeeass just choke on the fattest c–k,” the singer wrote back. “Just for a lil bit. Great thanks.”

Miley spoke about her father during a recent episode of David Letterman‘s series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.

When asked if Billy Ray was her hero, the singer responded, “I mean, honestly, my mom is my hero.” As for what her dad brings to the table, Miley explained she inherited her father’s “perspective and reality on life.”

However, the 31-year-old did have some positive things to say about Billy Ray. “Without my dad, I know… who I am as a person wouldn’t exist.Because my dad as a creative and like, as an artist, and the way his brain works has always made me feel safer in my own mind.”

It’s been reported that Noah and Tish are trying to put their mother-daughter issues in the past.

“Noah and Tish are working on rebuilding their relationship,” a source told Us Weekly. “It’s been a slow burn and has been very up and down the last several months, but Noah has been more open to the idea of having Tish in her life again.”

The news of reconciliation comes after Billy Ray announced his separation from Firerose in July 2024.
