Rob Ninkovich claims NFL referees are calling games in Chiefs’ favor as team improves to 4-0
The Kansas City Chiefs are doing so well this season that some football fans are taking to blaming the referees for helping them win games. As they head into Week 5 with an undefeated record of 4-0, former NFL defender Rob Ninkovich sided with fans.
In a recent episode of “The Dan and Ninko Show,” the hosts were discussing the Week 3 games. Speaking about how Kansas City had gone undefeated so far in the season, Ninkovich said:
“Yeah, and then you also have these crazy conspiracy things on calls being made, not being made, teams winning that probably were in a situation… You gotta look at all those Kansas City games lately though. It’s pretty wild. I know, like they should have thrown a flag on that play when they were being hugged. Now, they easily could have been 1-2. But now they’re 3-0.” (TS – 17:54 – 18:40)
He hinted that things were really amiss with the NFL and that it might be possible that the refs might be favoring KC.
“Yeah, we think there is something going on with the NFL. It’s pretty crazy.”
Chiefs offense struggling as defense continues to thrive
Many analysts are now totally dismissing the Chiefs offense, which was the best thing about the team until the 2023 season. Now, they’re referring to KC as a defensive football team.
Even in their first divisional win of the season, the Chiefs’ offense failed to bring any explosive plays to the game. Their defense has allowed just 326.8 yards and 18 points per game.

Speaking about the slump in his performance, Patrick Mahomes told reporters:
“We weren’t playing good. But I think the best thing is, no one talks about it and they start to now, but our defense is really good.”
He acknowledged that the offense needed to step up and that the defense could not shoulder the responsibility of carrying the entire team. However, with key offensive weapons such as Isiah Pacheco and Rashee Rice banged up, it seems unlikely that we will get to see the famed Chiefs offense back in action any time soon.
In a small bit of good news for the team, however, TE Travis Kelce recorded more receiving yards in his last game against the Chargers than in the first three games of the season, combined.
Could the Kansas City offense be finally starting to turn things around?
