Patrick Mahomes not happy with slim win over Los Angeles Chargers

Patrick Mahomes Takes the Blame for Offensive Struggles With 7-Word Confession After Shaky Win Over Chargers

The defending Super Bowl champs, the Kansas City Chiefs, had a close call in Week 4, barely beating the Los Angeles Chargers 17-10. This marked their fourth straight win of the season, but it wasn’t their smoothest performance. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes wasn’t too pleased with the shaky victory and he also had some things to say about it.

In the beginning of the game, the Chargers led with a 10-0 score and it looked like it was going to prove unfortunate for Mahomes and company. As usual, the Chiefs turned the tide around but only barely escaped an ill-fated defeat. This has been the case for more than one game this season, and the superstar quarterback generalized his team’s situation by saying, “defenses are just playing well.

As for the offensive side of the Chiefs, the QB said, “At the end of the day, you just gotta keep pushing.” However, he also admitted, “We’re going to try to keep getting better and better, but as long as you keep getting wins, you can’t really complain.” Despite the positive outlook on the situation, Mahomes took the blame and confessed, “I’m turning the [pigskin] over too much.

The Chiefs’ offensive struggles loomed large over the first half of the game after they gave up 2 turnovers in the first quarter and committed several penalties in the back-and-forth matchup against Los Angeles. Well, Mahomes clearly had lots of takeaways from the game. With all the feedback he’s getting from coaches, coordinators, and teammates, the Kansas City Chiefs are looking good for a strong season.

Now, Patrick Mahomes isn’t the only one on the team to have noticed the inconsistency in the offensive plays. Their linebacker also had his two cents on the situation.

Patrick Mahomes received some feedback in advance

Much like how it went down in the game against the Chargers, the Chiefs struggled to score against the Atlanta Falcons in their week 3 game. Not only fans but their defensive teams also picked up on it.

After winning the game, Leo Chanel felt like answering some curious reporters. And when Darren Smith asked for his opinion on the team’s performance, the linebacker had an interesting take. He praised the defensive team but did not go easy on Mahomes and the rest of the offensive players. “First and foremost, I think we have got to be more consistent throughout the whole game,” said Chanel in the brief media coverage.

It seems like everybody is exploiting the Chiefs offense to an extent. However, they continue to grow stronger with each fumble, and may very well be a competent team in the playoffs.

Do you think Kansas City should work more on the offense? Or are they fine as they are? Feel free to share these insights in the comments below.
