PATRICK Mahomes has made NFL history again – but this time for the wrong reasons.
The three-time Super Bowl champion is rewriting the record books during his stellar career.

Mahomes, 29, could lead his Kansas City Chiefs to an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat this year.
Kansas City has a 15-1 record entering Week 18 and already locked up the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs.
And they have the luxury of resting players for their regular-season finale at the Denver Broncos.
But Mahomes hasn’t been up to his usual lofty standards in 2024.
He has returned the worst statistical year of his career in both passing yards and touchdowns.
The 29-year-old was overlooked for the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2017.
And in doing so he has set an unwanted piece of modern-day history.
Mahomes is the first quarterback to miss out on the Pro Bowl despite having a 15-1 or better record since 2004.
He has been named to six straight Pro Bowls dating back to the 2018 season.
But the two-time MVP and three-time Super Bowl champion didn’t make the top three in the AFC this year.
The AFC’s quarterbacks were Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Joe Burrow.
Mahomes threw for 3,928 yards – the lowest number ever barring his rookie year when he played one game.
And his 26 passing touchdowns is his joint worst return along with 2019.
But that year he threw only five interceptions and played just 14 games compared to 16 this year.
Mahomes’ favorite target Travis Kelce somehow made it in despite his worst ever season.
The tight end, 35, could still be feeling the Taylor Swift effect after topping the fan vote.
Kelce has a newfound fame thanks to his relationship with the music icon.
And he racked up 252,200 votes, ahead of Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs in second with 250,082.
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was a distant third with 242,352 votes.
Kelce’s 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns through 16 games are both career lows.
His previous low for yards was in his rookie year of 2014, when he got 862 in 16 games.
And Kelce’s low for touchdowns in a season was four in the year 2016.
The tight end has been voted to the Pro Bowl for nine consecutive seasons.
The only time he wasn’t named in the selections was in his rookie year, 2014.
But both Kelce and Mahomes rarely get to play in the game.
They are often too busy with Super Bowl preparations having played in four each.
