Chiefs Hit With Six-Figure Fine Following Sideline Scuffle vs. Ravens

Staff Reactions to Ravens 17-10 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game - Baltimore Beatdown

The Kansas City Chiefs have been fined for a scuffle that broke out in their game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Kansas City Chiefs were able to get the win in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, but there were some speed bumps along the way.

Early on in the fourth quarter of the game, superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes scrambled to the left side of the field and began to go out of bounds. But Ravens star linebacker Roquan Smith came in a bit late to make sure of that.

Smith gave Mahomes a bit of a push, which the Chiefs’ bench did not appreciate, especially backup tight end Peyton Hendershot. He got in Smith’s face and then gave him a shove, despite him not being active in the game that night.

As a result, the Chiefs have now been fined $100,000 for the scuffle, and Hendershot was fined just over five thousand dollars.

This comes after the NFL sent out a memo to every team ahead of the season making sure they knew they would be responsible for the actions of their players, whether they were active or not.

The Chiefs will be looking to bounce back from the incident and continue their winning ways early in the season in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
