NFL confirms Tom Brady is subject of broadcast restrictions in nightmare start to FOX career

The NFL has placed restrictions on Tom Brady’s access to teams as part of his role as a broadcaster after it was confirmed that he does have plans to become a part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders

Tom Brady has already been made aware that he will indeed face a set of rules specifically laid out for him as he enters his first year as a broadcaster for FOX Sports with the NFL confirming their stance.

The legendary quarterback is looking to land a stake in the Las Vegas Raiders with talks ongoing for around a year. But those negotiations look to have led to restrictions on his access to NFL teams with his role as a Fox Sports broadcaster, Fox Vegas has reported.

Brady will start in his role as a broadcaster for Fox in the NFL’s opening weekend, being apart of the coverage of the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the Cleveland Browns. But throughout the season, he will not be given the access that broadcasters are regularly given, with the 47-year-old not allowed to participate in in-person or online broadcast production meetings and cannot access team facilities, players or coaches.

Brady has been told that he must adhere to the league constitution and bylaws, which means that he also cannot publicly criticize officials and other teams – seemingly making his role extremely difficult for the upcoming season.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner will also be subjected to the NFL’s gambling policy, while also limiting his ability to speak players at this time until he makes a decision in pursuit of becoming a part-owner of the Raiders.

It remains to be seen whether these restrictions will be in place for Brady ahead of his first assignment next weekend, with the restrictions making his new role all the much more difficult – in a role may expect to be an extremely difficult one after taking Greg Olsen’s place on FOX’s number-one team.

Brady retired from football after the 2022 season, a year in which he sensationally returned to the team after initially retiring the previous season for one final year. After walking away from his playing career, Brady decided to take a year away from the sport before returning, but in a much different setting as a color commentator and broadcaster with Fox.

The legendary figure is also likely to be on the Super Bowl commentary team in New Orleans in February, with Fox having exclusive broadcast rights to the championship game this season.
