Chiefs QB’s wife and All-Pro TE’s girlfriend sat in separate suites during Thursday’s season opener

One of the biggest storylines coming out of the Kansas City Chiefs’ season-opening win over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday had nothing to do with the game itself.

Instead, fans began obsessing over the fact that Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, did not sit together, further fueling speculation the two were not on good terms stemming from Brittany’s support of presidential candidate Donald Trump.

However, there apparently was a reason the two were in separate suites, and it had nothing to do with their friendship being on the rocks.

“Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes hung out together after the game and are still friends despite reports suggesting that there was bad blood over Brittany’s support of Trump” the Daily Mail reported. “Taylor sat with Travis’s mom simply because she wanted to spend time with her. [The source said] the separate suites had nothing to do with Brittany.”

It was easy for some fans to connect the dots about there being bad blood between the two. Brittany spent Thursday’s game sitting with her daughter Sterling Skye in one suite, while Swift was in a sperate suite with Kelce’s parents.

However, it appears the Instagram comments and posts supporting Trump haven’t had a negative effect on her friendship with Swift. The Daily Mail insinuated that because Mahomes is the darling of the NFL that no one in her circle wants to question her political beliefs for fear of ruffling feathers.

If the Daily Mail’s report is correct, then Swift and Brittany should be just fine so long as no one brings up the upcoming election (Swift voted for Joe Biden during the last election and has not been shy about her dislike of Trump).
