Country singer Morgan Wallen’s ex KT Smith has announced that she’s parted ways from her husband of nine months, Luke Scornavacco.

Rumours had been flying for a while that the newlyweds had decided to call time on their marriage and KT confirmed the chatter this week, saying they’ll be ‘rooting each other on from a distance’.

Their romance had been quite the whirlwind, with KT and Luke saying I Do just five days after he popped the question at the end of March 2024.

Confirming her fans’ suspicions in a statement, KT wrote: ‘As difficult as it is to share this, I know that a lot of you guys have been invested in our relationship since we used to post together a lot at the beginning of our relationship.

‘I wanted to give you an update… especially since we’ve both been hounded with questions and that’s totally understandable.

‘Luke and I have decided to separate. We won’t be sharing about it, because there truly isn’t much to share. We both have decided to do what’s best for us, as well as Indigo [KT’s son with Morgan], while he’s still as young as he is.

‘There’s nothing but love on both sides, and though neither party has done anything wrong… we just haven’t worked out in a while, and we both need to be the best versions of ourselves.’

KT concluded her post by saying she and Luke will be ‘rooting each other on from a distance.’

KT dated Morgan on and off for several years with the former couple welcoming their son Indigo in 2020 after they had already called off their relationship.

Morgan notoriously didn’t react well to the news of his ex marrying Luke on April 3 and threw a chair from a rooftop bar in Nashville soon after. He was later sentenced to spend seven days in a DUI education center and given two years of supervised probation for the incident.

Morgan rarely speaks publicly about his son but did chat about co-parenting with PEOPLE in 2021. He said: ‘We’re doing our best to figure it out, just trying to do the best we can with the situation.

‘I mean, many people have been in this situation before — having a kid with someone you’re not with — but knowing that doesn’t make it any easier.’

There must be something in the water as KT and Luke’s split comes after a raft of separations at the start of 2025.
