She recently went public with the major announcement that she and her beau, Tyler Ward, are anticipating the birth of their first child, a baby girl. It’s an exciting milestone for Emmy, 25, and she could not be prouder, per Country Now.

“So I’m so excited…right out of ‘American Idol,’ I didn’t know. So that’s kind of been the journey,” she exulted on the Got It From My Momma podcast via County Now.

Emmy had the honor of singing there and meeting Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff. Ward captured the moment in a post on Instagram, writing, “”It was surreal. Kamala was very sweet. You might be asking, how in the world did this happen?? Because @emmyroserussell is a superstar and was personally invited to perform. And me? Well…I’m just her arm candy.”
