Loretta Lynn’s Granddaughter Emmy Russell in Hospital Facing Health Complication After Birth of First Child

When discussing the history of country music, it is almost impossible to forget Loretta Lynn. The country music icon released legendary songs like “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and “You’re Lookin’ at Country.” And besides releasing hit songs, the singer spent nearly six decades touring the country.
Sadly, in 2022, the icon passed away. But her legacy continued on thanks to her granddaughter Emmy Russell, who competed on season 22 of American Idol. While exploring her own career in music, Russell recently shared some complications she had when welcoming her first child.
Sharing the exciting news with friends, fans, and family, Russell and her partner, Tyler Ward, welcomed their first child on Friday. Ward explained to fans, “I just want to update everybody. Emmy we can’t post so I’m posting on her behalf. We got to the hospital Wednesday evening when Emmy’s water broke. Gave birth Friday morning at 2:30 AM and it was a really, really tough situation and she’s still here in the hospital.”
Emmy Russell Admits “It’s Gonna Be Worth It”
Posting a video from inside the hospital room, Ward eventually turned to the camera to Russell, who was enjoying some snuggles with her baby. The singer admitted she almost fainted. “So we almost got discharged and I was feeling woozy. I got up and I thought it was going to pass out. So they told me that I lost a liter of blood and I had to get a blood transfusion. So we’re going to test again and see if I have to get more blood.”
Having lost a good amount of blood, the doctors decided to keep Russell for a few more days to make sure she and the baby left healthy and happy. But even with all the complications, Russell insisted, “It’s gonna be worth it.”
Fans rallied around the singer, sending both love and support for her recovery. “Oh I’m so sorry it’s been a rough one. Emmy is right, it’ll be worth it, but in the meantime praying for you all!” Another person added, “We have been and will continue to pray for all of you. We speak healing over her body right now, in Jesus name! Love y’all so much”
