Liam Payne died unexpectedly on October 16 leaving fans and family distraught

After piecing together the funeral plans following his body’s return from Argentina to the UK, it has been reported that Liam Payne’s final goodbye is set for some time this week.

The One Direction icon will be buried this week in his birthplace of Wolverhampton, with the family making careful arrangements to keep the service private due to his fame, allowing only those nearest to him to attend.

Liam’s manager Roger Nores may be excluded from paying respects, as inquiries into his possible connection to the star’s passing are ongoing.

Nores, a figure in the Argentinian music scene, was reportedly with Payne moments before his incident at Buenos Aires’ Casa Sur hotel.

An insider informed The Sun about the familial tension over the guest list.

“Liam’s family want his funeral to go off without a hitch and right now opinions are strained when it comes to Roger,” the insider told The Sun.

“It’s true he and Liam had a bond but he’s never been popular when it comes to Liam’s wider circle.”

It was alleged that Liam and Roger’s relationship, both professional and personal, was complex and fraught with tension, having experienced a fallout in the past.

However, it appears that they had mended fences before Liam’s trip to Latin America, as he and his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, briefly stayed at Roger’s residence, reports the Mirror US.

An insider revealed that those in Liam’s inner circle were unaware of his reconciliation with Roger. The exact nature of their relationship prior to Liam’s untimely passing is also being questioned by the Teardrops singer.

“There is a difference in the narrative, Roger would say he stepped back from working with Liam – others would say he was pushed,” the source disclosed to The Sun.

Roger continues to refute any involvement in the tragic demise of the star.

“I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel 3 times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened. There were over 15 people at the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left,” he said, according to the Daily Mail.

“I could have never imagined something like this would happen. I’ve given my statement to the prosecutor on October 17 as a witness and I haven’t spoken to any police officer or prosecutor ever since.”

He further asserted that he was not acting as Liam’s manager at the time of his death, but merely a friend.

However, The Sun reported having seen emails suggesting that Roger was leading business ventures on behalf of Liam.
