Fans of Liam Payne did not appreciate the latest documentary about the late star.

After Liam’s fatal fall from his third floor hotel room balcony, different television programs have been quick to cover his death in detail. On Monday, TMZ premiered TMZ Investigates: Liam Payne: Who’s to Blame? where they interviewed eyewitnesses, a hotel worker, and those close to Liam.

With Liam’s death occurring almost two months prior to the premiere, and his funeral just weeks ago, some fans of the former One Direction member aren’t happy. Many took to social media to share their thoughts on the latest doc.

“This is so gross. the case is not even closed,” one fan wrote on X, formally known as Twitter. Another added: “I know most celebrity deaths get a documentary/dug into .. but some of these topics are so invasive. just let him rest.”

A third penned: “They way you are talking about Liam is disrespectful I hope you get sued.” Others didn’t even need to watch the full hour-long documentary to get angry.

“Just saw the TMZ ad for liam and I’m f—–g sick to my stomach,” another said. In the show, an eyewitness to Liam’s fall opened up about what he saw.

Bret Watson was a hotel guest who was staying at CasaSur in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the same hotel Liam was at. Bret was there for his wedding and several people attending the wedding were also at the hotel.

He was in a hotel room on the first floor with his wedding planner when he witnessed Liam’s fall. “I was meeting our wedding planner. We had gone up to the room and happened to be looking out of the window of our hotel,” he explained.

“We saw Liam fall,” he continued, “We immediately rushed out on the balcony to see what it was and when we looked down we could see it was Liam lying on the ground. He landed face up so we could tell right away it was him, and he was motionless.”

He added: “I don’t have a medical background but from what I saw it looked like he passed away on impact. Time stopped or slowed down immediately. Seeing anyone just fall like that is heartbreaking but being able to see it happen and hear the impact on the ground which was more haunting than seeing him fall.”
