Fans have been wondering if Clarkson would still make it to the induction in the wake of some recent drama surrounding Foreigner. Rehearsals began at this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony yesterday. There, rumors began spreading that two of the honored band’s members (Mick Jones and Dennis Elliott) would not be attending the ceremony tomorrow.

Elliott, specifically, took to Facebook to announce that he would not be there. He noted that the band was “finally given the schedule last night, and it is not to our satisfaction. So we are staying home. We have been asking for weeks, and they have waited until the very last minute to send it knowing we were all packed and going to bed. Totally unacceptable to us. Hope you have a good time.”

There was also allegedly some additional drama circulating the event. The band members were allegedly told they were to walk the red carpet alone, without their wives.

When it comes to Jones’ absence, there is likely not as much ill-will toward the ceremony runners as there is with Elliott. Jones revealed back in February that he has been battling Parkinson’s disease. This led to his absence from Foreigner’s reunion shows since around 2022. This is likely why he will be sitting out tomorrow’s induction.

Who Will Perform at Foreigner’s Hall of Fame Induction?

Despite the biting words, the band as a whole did release a statement saying that Lou Gramm, Rick Wills, and Al Greenwood would be attending the ceremony. They noted that they would be accepting the award on behalf of the absent Elliott and Jones, as well as Ian McDonald and Ed Gagliardi, who are “no longer with us.” McDonald passed away in 2022 and Gagliardi passed away in 2014.

Despite the drama surrounding the absences of a few of Foreigner’s most iconic members, the show will likely go on as planned.

Kelly Clarkson is slated to perform at the Foreigner induction ceremony. She will perform with fellow pop star Demi Lovato and rock star Sammy Hagar. The three members of Foreigner who have confirmed that they will be there are also expected to perform a medley of hits tomorrow at the ceremony. The ceremony will take place at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
