On November 13, 2024, an X user @CelineOracle shared a clip of Celine Dion dressed in a shimmery pale pink gown, performing her iconic 2002 hit. The video quickly went viral, sparking an outpouring of admiration and excitement across social media.

Fans celebrated Dion’s resilience, energy, and grace, with one particularly viral comment humorously suggesting that her neurologist deserves a Nobel Prize. This sentiment stems from Dion’s announcement in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare and debilitating neurological disorder. A netizen on X tweeted:

“Her neurologist deserves a Nobel prize.”

Many users on X expressed amazement at seeing Celine Dion looking glamorous and moving freely.

“people keep bringing up her lip-syncing but in the documentary, she basically couldn’t move, the fact that she’s glammed up… moving freely is such an amazing feat, something that once seemed impossible,” a user on X commented.

“Her neurologist and hundreds of dollars in treatment which most 🇺🇸 can’t afford, because our healthcare system will never spend this much money in the treatment of an insured,” another netizen commented.

“the fact that this song was written for Stuart Little 2,” one more wrote on X.

However, some users on X emphasized that Celine Dion should also be credited for her strength, as battling such a rare and challenging disease is no easy feat.

“more than the neurologist’s efforts, we should commend first her strong spirit. Without determination to overcome such a debilitating disease, battling it is very difficult,” one commented.

“It melts my heart to see her strong and healthy 🥹,” one more on X.

“You can tell how happy she is. it’s all that matters,” a netizen commented.

As of now, Celine Dion has not yet responded to the online reactions and has not made any public statement following her performance in Riyadh.

On Wednesday, Celine Dion performed at the 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab Fashion Show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, celebrating the Lebanese designer’s 45-year career in fashion.

The 56-year-old singer stunned in a beautiful pale pink sequined gown that cascaded to the floor, paired with a flowing cape. Her hair was styled in a bun and she wore minimal jewelry.

Dion began her performance with her iconic 1994 track, The Power of Love, captivating the audience. Later, she energetically clapped and jumped on stage, encouraging the crowd as she performed I’m Alive.

As the performance ended, the singer placed her hand over her heart, turned her back to the audience, and slowly spun around, finishing with a graceful hip-swinging dance and a dramatic flourish, expressing her gratitude.

This performance was particularly significant, considering Dion’s 2022 diagnosis of Stiff-Person Syndrome. This rare neurological disorder causes muscle spasms and affects her ability to sing.

In an emotional video on Instagram, Dion announced her diagnosis and the postponement of her 2023 tour.

“Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to… All I know is singing. It’s what I’ve done all my life, and it’s what I love to do the most,” Dion said.

Since then, Dion has not been seen performing until most recently in July 2024, when she made her highly anticipated return to the 2024 Olympics. For this special occasion, the singer chose a Dior haute couture gown adorned with sequins and silver beads.
